NOPE: Roaming Start Menu and Task Bar items in Horizon 7.x

Specifically- you can’t really roam Task Bar and Start Menu items in Windows 10 at all.

I checked with VMware support. You have two alternatives:

Use GPO

Use Group Policy to give everyone in the OU the same items.

Can we be real for a minute? No one will like that. Arindam pins the calculator and Outlook. Sandra pins Chrome and Notepad. This is guaranteed to make no one happy.

Use UEM

Use User Environment Manager to apply them. If you’re licensed for it. I am not- I only have Horizon Standard, and UEM is an enterprise feature.

If I had to pick, I’d go UEM, which comes with a lot of other stuff and is arguably the best way to manage the user profiles.
